The Canada Revenue Agency has announced the prescribed annual interest rates that will apply to any amounts owed to the CRA and to any amounts the CRA owes to individuals and corporations. These rates are calculated quarterly in accordance with applicable legislation and will be in effect from April 1, 2009, to June 30, 2009.
Income tax
Each of these rates represents a 1% drop from the rates in effect from the last quarter.

When Are My Taxes Due? - Many of the dates by which a taxpayer must take action under the specific provisions of the Income Tax Act vary with the action to be undertaken.
Filing deadlines Time limits:
- Individuals-April 30, or June 15 if the taxpayer carries on a business (other than through a tax shelter)
- Deceased individuals-where the individual dies before October, April 30 or June 15, as above. Where the individual dies after September, 6 months following death
- Trusts-March 31 for inter vivos trusts. No later than 12 months following death for testamentary trusts, and annually thereafter
- Corporations-6 months following the end of the taxation year
